Dolores Zorreguieta

was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she graduated from The National School of Fine Arts. In 1992 she moved to New York. In 1994 she was selected to be part of Artist in the Marketplace at The Bronx Museum and received a grant from Franklin Furnace to present an installation. She experimented with mixed media, video and digital art, which shaped a life long practice that makes her work difficult to categorize. She was awarded grants from New York Foundation for the Arts and New York State Council on the Arts, and has exhibited in the United States, Latin America and Europe. Dolores teaches art in public schools, an activity that had a transformative impact in her art making and her understanding of the role of an artist as an agent of social change.

Contributors
We are thankful to colleagues, artists, educators and art administrators who have been part of this project on an official role, or as devoted supporters. Their advice and expertise are needed. We hope this list gets longer as we pay our due to them, and as more people join this adventure. Here are few of them:

Film curator, festival consultant and producer Hebe Tabachnik was part of I am an artist! from July of 2021 to September of 2022. Hebe brought her experience in the film industry during the planning process and the launch of the project. In brainstorm virtual sessions she partnered with Dolores to find dynamic ways to bring I am an artist! to fruition and promote it.  We will be forever grateful for her contribution during the critical initial face of this initiative. We wish her the best of luck on her mission to support films that matter.

José Gamboa is the financial advisor and accountant for I am an artist! He brings his nurturing common sense and his logistics experience to build a sustainable operation. Every venture needs someone who solves problems, José is that person.

Harley Spiller has been a friend to the project from day 1. He is always available to provide invaluable feedback. He often works wonders with Dolores' broken English…

Jorge Zuzulich is a fan of the project and his positive comments were instrumental. He has lent his experience as a curator, professor and art administrator to advocate for the project.
